A bevel is CONTRAINDICATED on the cavosurface margins of a Class I amalgam cavity preparation because
as the tooth undergoes natural attrition the bevel would be worn away
a thin flange of the amalgam restorative material is prone to fracture.
this type of margin would tend to leak
the restoration is more difficult to polish
